Wedding Booking Season: What Does It Mean?
With the ringing of the New Year we bring lots of resolutions…and some even brought new “rings” into 2018 …with Engagements!! If you’re of them, CONGRATULATIONS!! Chances are, your head is in a whirlwind with where to begin your Wedding Planning! (And really, who can blame you?!).
The single biggest question you’ll be asking most often once the planning starts; “Do you have my date available?” We love this question! We’d love to be able to help with your Wedding, so we love when you ask!
Wedding Booking Season Begins!!
IT’S HERE; starts with January & goes strong through March!!
Don’t be alarmed, this blog is LOADED with details & tips on how to navigate through Wedding Booking Season to be able to get exactly the dates & services you want…before somebody else does! :-)
Holiday Season isn’t just a time for gathering, it’s Engagement Season as well! And though Engagement Season officially ends on Valentine’s Day, many couples will scream with excitement, “YES, I WILL!” when the question is popped during November…and all the way through to New Years Eve!
And just when Engagement Season is nearing its end & we’ve rung in a New Year…Wedding Booking Season begins just days after the ball drops! (It’s also referred to as Wedding Show or Bridal Show Season…more on that below! )
I know, you’re thinking; “But what does this mean?”
Availability with most key wedding services will change rather quickly during Wedding Booking Season as couples scoop up available dates! January – March is the BUSIEST 3 months of the year for reserving most anything Wedding related…especially the key services; Venue, Entertainment, Photo, Video…and pretty much in that order. The best way to ensure you get what you’re looking for is to get out there and start looking…and even booking!
Now you’re thinking; “Ok, well how do I start?”
At a show, there’s plenty of time to walk around and visit the services you’d like some basic information on and is a great way to “feel out” what you like and who you wish to make appointments to sit down with for more one on one information.
Most all shows will also feature performance segments, from a Band and/or DJ Company, to showcase a bit of their entertainment services. Though you’ll find several Band & DJs to talk with at Wedding Shows, not every one of them will have a performance segment… and many times it’s not necessary because true knowledge, passion, professionalism, energy & enthusiasm are all quite obvious from the very first conversation with some entertainment professionals! :-)
You’ll also have the chance to enjoy a cash bar at many shows, as well as opportunity to sample food from the venue the show is held in, view that venue as an option for your Wedding, see a Bridal/Formal Wear Fashion Show AND even win some door prizes from Wedding services or even a vacation!!!! (The idea of sampling great food and possibly winning a honeymoon vacation are usually great reasons to get grooms to attend
And now you’re thinking; “Where do I find Shows?”
There are several Production Companies that produce Wedding Shows (some venues will even produce their own shows), but after DJing Weddings for over 15 years, here are two of my top favorite companies that put on some terrific …and numerous to choose from…Wedding shows!!
